Ohana Kai Watersports | Seattle Jet Ski Rental

Basic Requirements | Single Day Jet Ski Rentals

The Primary Renter of your party (the person who will pay for, sign for, and receive Watercraft) must be at least 25 years of age.

Drivers must be 18+. No one under the age of 5 may ride on a Watercraft.

All drivers must carry a Washington State Boaters Permit. If you do not have one, we will provide you a temporary one free of charge.

The Primary Renter must provide a credit card in order to pay for the rental, as well as hold a damage deposit. The Primary Renter must also provide a government issued ID (Drivers license, passport, etc)

Bookings can be made online following the “Book Online Now” links, or by contacting us directly via Text/Call or Email. Reservations must be made in advance, sorry, no same day reservations available.

Posted rates are for parties of up to 4 drivers. More than 4 drivers creates a liability/safety issue so we need to leave a member of staff on site as a facilitator – this person will help orientate new drivers, fuel the equipment, and generally oversee the wellbeing of both the riders and our equipment. Larger groups that use this service find it immensely helpful. There is a small charge for this and covers small groups of up to 11 drivers. More than 11 drivers? Check out our Events page.

Driver limitations do not apply for Multi Day Rentals, or full service Events.

We require a 1000 per jet ski damage deposit to be held for the duration of your rental (2000 for hourly). This will be placed the day of your rental, and released following the safe return and inspection of the equipment.

Similar to a rental car, our jet skis are delivered to you full of gas, and fuel charges are added at the end of your rental. The charge will depend on how hard you ride the jet skis. We charge per gallon, and our equipment burns on average 2-4 gallons per hour. Check with us for our current fuel rate. It usually matches or beats the prices at on water fuel docks. You are welcome, and encouraged, to return the jet skis to us full.

Be sure to have a read over our Booking and Cancellation Policies before making a booking.

Ohana Kai Watersports | Single Day Jet Ski Rentals

What’s A Typical Day?

Brief outline of your rental day – On the day of your reservation, we will bring the jet skis, life vests, and any other rented equipment to you at the designated drop off spot – typically the boat launch parking lot. We will double check all paperwork with you, and pass out/help you to fill free temporary boaters cards. A staff member will then give you a thorough walk through of the operational and safety procedures of the equipment, and answer any questions you may have. We will launch the jet skis at the boat launch and get you on your way. We will then return at the end of your rental period to pull the jet skis out of the water and do a post rental inspection

Prior to your rental date: We will send you a confirmation email that has a drivers license upload link, and links to liability forms for your drivers. It will be your responsibility to get these sent out and filled out before your rental date. Doing this in advance will help save some time at the lake. There will still be some documents to sign the morning of your rental.

Sample Rental Schedule – [Half Day Rental, 10am – 2pm]

9:30 – 10:00 AM – We typically arrive to the boat launch parking area by 9:30 ready for you. We advise that you arrive at, or even before, this time as there is last minute paperwork to fill and an orientation to do. The orientation can last up to 30 minutes, but this will depend heavily on your group and preparedness level. We aim to have finished paperwork and start orientation by 10AM, but if everyone is ready before that we are more than happy to start sooner.

10:00 – 10:30 AM – Depending on the size of your party, promptness, preparedness, questions, and boat launch line, we aim to launch the jet skis between 10 and 1030am. The launch line is unfortunately out of our control – sometimes it is long, sometimes it is non existent.

10:00 AM – 1:30 PM – Enjoy your day! Depending on usage levels, the jet skis may need a refueling during the day. There are a few options for this that we can explain before or the morning of your rental.

1:30 – 1:45 PM – Time to start wrapping up. Our staff will be in the area by 1:30 to coordinate with you to get the jet skis out of the water. Please be near by the boat launch area with the jet skis and all other rented equipment. We aim to pull the jet skis out of the water between 1:50 and the 2:00 pm rental end time. Please fee free to use them up until the rental end time, but punctuality here is important! Late fees will be charged per the rental agreement if you are not prepared for us by the designated time. There is often a retrieval line, and it can be stressful for all if you are not ready for us.

2:00 PM – There will be some end of rental sign offs as well as a post rental inspection. This usually takes less than 20 minutes

Fueling Policy

Our watercraft leave us with a full tank of gas. We charge for gas used at set rate per gallon. Our PWCs are very fuel efficient, burning between 2-4 gallons per hour, depending on usage. Many groups will go the full rental period without needing to fill up. But this of course does depend on usage. Visit our equipment page for more specifics about fuel tank size and manufacturer provided burn rates.

Below is what to expect at the different lakes. Please contact us with any questions about our fueling policy, or to request additional full/empty gas cans.

Please contact us for our current fueling rate – this sometimes fluctuates based on current gas prices. For reference, our prices do tend to match, or be slightly cheaper than, on water marina gas stations.

Lake Washington has several fuel docks where refueling is possible. We suggest using these before returning the equipment to us to avoid our fuel charge.

We typically do not bring extra gas to Lake Washington rentals as most people either don’t use all of the gas, or prefer to fill up on the docks. If you would like us to bring extra gas please let us know with your booking.

Lake Sammamish does not have fuel docks. We will leave you with full 5 gallon cans of gas with which you can use fuel up the equipment during the day. Towards the end of your rental, you can either fill these up at a nearby gas station or return to us empty and we will charge for what has been used.

Lake Tapps does not have fuel docks. It is often difficult to leave and reenter the park during the day. We will leave you with full 5 gallon cans of gas with which you can use fuel up the equipment during the day. We will charge for what has been used.
